I just have to say: client frenzy, on ALL accounts.
It is the middle of November, and in the world of consumer/lifestyle PR, the holiday season means 14 hour days, no sleep, holiday sales, phones blowing up and most of all: HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES!!
Every major outlet is having a holiday gift guide: print, TV, online, radio. Our team has already gotten a jump start on this (can we say two hour preparation meetings in JUNE) and we’ve got lots more to come! The think about working at a PR agency in Los Angeles, the editors in NY have already had their morning coffee and about to leave for lunch before we barely turn on the computer. Enter 14 hour days. It’s quite common for any one of us to be in the office bright and early by 6am and not leave until 7pm.
The life of a publicist is a hard one, but well worth it.
