Now that all the dust has settled… what did everyone think about Sunday night’s Grammy awards?
When CBS ratings reports came in early Monday morning, the show’s producers must have been pleased to hear that this year’s ceremony posted its highest ratings in a decade, with more than 26.5 million people tuning in. With performances from some high-profile talent like Rihanna, Drake, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and more, such a boost in ratings doesn’t come as a shock.
The public relations campaign and media storm surrounding one of the night’s performers and winners, Lady Gaga, also did a lot for ratings as well. Not only was Lady Gaga featured in a 60 minutes interview with Anderson Cooper airing before the Grammys, the massive hype from her new single “Born This Way” catapulted the star to the top of the headlines over the weekend. The spectacle was heightened even more when the pop superstar showed up on the red carpet, ushered inside a giant plastic egg.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Forget You” performance with Cee-Lo was fun as was that awesome Aretha Franklin tribute. Bruno’s doo-wop inspired rendition of Grenade was also a highlight. What was your favorite Grammy moment?
