L’Oreal just launched a new program for the salons that use its professional line of hair dye. The over 4,000 salons have been given the tools to improve their own Facebook pages with the help of Buddy Media. This partnership will help the salons produce a higher caliber social media presence and allows L’Oreal to provide content to salons that use its products.
Most importantly, this new platform allows for customers to book appointments on Facebook. Genius, especially since if you’re anything like me, I spend a majority of my day online a good percentage of that on Facebook.
This is not only a smart move to help consumers, but also a very smart move for a large company such as L’Oreal. This mega-brand is now interacting with its users at a grassroots level, which is often times one of the most effective ways to gain brand recognition and loyalty, which is very flighty with all beauty products.
While Le Posh does not use L’Oreal hair dye, the idea of booking on Facebook is one way to lower the needed level of interest from customers since they no longer have to call or enter all their information on a website.
