This PR agency is filled with a diverse range of ethnicities and it is always fun hearing stories from one another. This past week marked my “story time” as I attended a traditional Indian wedding. Being Indian you would think that I attend weddings like this all the time, but surprisingly, this was the most traditional one I have been to since I was young!
Starting the Friday before Halloween is when all of the extravaganzas began. From multiple prayers, to a Mehndi party (aka Henna) to a before the wedding reception, Indians always find an excuse to have a good time. Indian weddings are typically a multiple day affair – this one totaling 4.5 days (not full days, but rather at least one function each day). The wedding was very pretty and the bride looked gorgeous.
My favorite part (and everyone at this public relations agency) of Indian events is checking out everyone’s outfits – from the latest styles to the colors and not to mention the jewelry.
