Happy Thursday to one and all! The day is winding down in this public relations firm. For the past week the California weather has been marvelous! Warm and not a cloud in the sky! Like many of you, I like to match my diet with the current season, and this Spring time weather calls for fresh Spring time salads!
Working in Social Media, I spend a good chuck of my time surfing the net for enticing articles that relate to our health and fitness clients, as well as clients who focus on veganism and going organic. Through my internet travels I discovered a great piece entitled 101 Simple Salads For the Season by The New York Times. To my dismay, the article dates back a few summers so it wasn’t the most useful to post, however, that doesn’t mean I couldn’t get a little inspiration from it! The article goes on to list 101 delectable salads piled high with fresh fruits and veggies, among other healthy treats (pine nuts, jicama, you name it!). I made a list of sorts, picking out a few of my favorite vegetarian/vegan options, and made my way to the local market. It was there I fell into a tizzy surrounded by all the nutritious goodness, and basically purchased anything I thought would make for a great salad (kale!). For the past few days I have been enjoying homemade salads for lunch and dinner, which is nutritious and also great for beach season which is approaching/upon us. Eating fresh food keeps me feeling healthy and energized; the reasons to eat nutrient rich foods are endless! I hope this inspired you to jump on the health food band wagon with me! At least until beach season is over.. 😉
