At this PR agency, we pitch a lot of special holidays – from Christmas, to Mother’s Day and even National Jerky Day. Planned and quirky days give us publicists another way of providing media with timely story ideas and while every holiday is exciting to pitch, there is one time of year that tops the list. Today marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign designed to increase the awareness of this common and deadly disease. Some of our amazing clients create campaigns to give back to the cause and we are lucky enough to help them spread the word.
Lucy’s, maker of delicious gluten-free and allergy friendly cookies, released limited edition Chocolate Chip cookie packaging created especially for the month of October. To support the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer, Lucy’s will also be donating $50,000 to the nonprofit organization as well as share information on their website about the importance of prevention, early detection, treatment and support when it comes to breast cancer.
Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park has also launched a BCA initiative for the month of October. Instead of using the regular orange SkySocks for jumpers to wear while having a blast on the trampolines, Sky Zone is offering pink SkySocks to guests during the entire month. For every pair of pink SkySocks sold, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Fab-U-Wish foundation in partnership with The Pink Agenda.
For the entire month of October, Ju-Ju-Be will be donating 5% of their Pink Pinwheels collection sales and 1% of their overall sales to the Keep a Breast Foundation. They will also be including a Punker Pack from Keep A Breast Foundation as a Free Gift with Purchase for all online orders!
