Everyone faces different challenges throughout the work day. Maybe the pitch that took hours to craft hasn’t received any responses or- in my case- the graphic design project I thought would take an hour and a half took three.
While the KPR team is super supportive and encouraging; let’s face it, we’re all busy!
Thankfully, a gift I received from our last team building, which was conducted by Austin’s managing director Shelby Fox, gives me the positive boost I need to get through painstaking graphics projects and tough deadlines. At this team building, Etsy boards were distributed with each of our names beautifully printed across the center. Everyone then made their way to each board to handwrite a word that described the perspective co-worker. These were then framed, allowing us to put them on our work desks and view them each day.
I can’t even count the number of times that I’ve looked over at that board. My favorite words from it are “tough”, “leader” and “passionate”. Whenever I feel discouraged, I think about how my co-workers view me: as a tough, passionate leader that nails her graphics every time. My co-workers thoughts recharge me almost daily.
Whoever came up with “a penny for your thoughts” couldn’t have been more wrong.
Until next time,
