Spring has sprung and your home isn’t the only thing you should be tidying up this season! While you’re dusting off your shelves, wiping down your windows and organizing your closet, you should also be neatening up your PR campaign.
Below are a few tips our PR agency is using to spruce up our strategies for spring:
- Declutter: You’d be surprised at how cluttered those client folders can get or how out of control your inbox has become since the new year. Take this time to go through everything and organize, organize, organize! Delete the old Google Alerts, make new folders for documents that don’t have a place and update your media lists because let’s face it, that editor you worked with at Shape in 2009 probably isn’t there anymore! By tidying up, you will find what you need faster, look through less and free up tons of time which can now be used to pitch those amazing products.
- Polish Up Your Plan: We are almost halfway through the year and spring is a great time to check in on your campaign. Are you meeting the goals you set? Is there anything else you can be doing to make this year a huge success? What have you learned from the campaign so far, and what can you improve on? After asking yourself these questions, it’s time for a brainstorm! Grab a few creative colleagues and let their minds run wild. This will give you a new prospective on your plan and tons of ideas to amp up your efforts for the next few months.
- Freshen Up Your Tactics: There’s always something new you can be doing to get your brands out there. Do some research and think beyond the traditional, because PR is no longer just press releases and media relations. Have you been in touch with that Instagram influencer who has 15k followers and is perfect for your product? Have you tried pitching with an infographic rather than just straight statistics? Have you tweeted story ideas to editors instead of just reaching them via email? If not, try it!
Are you doing any sPRing cleaning? We’d love to hear about it!
