Writing doesn’t always come naturally. Between the press releases, pitches and blog posts, it’s understandable that creativity can hit a roadblock. In PR, writing is everything; it’s what allows us to form connections with the media and get press hits. Here are some things you can do to alleviate writer’s block:
- Go for a walk. Clear your head and find some new inspiration outside the computer screen.
- Change your environment. Sometimes sitting at the same desk surrounded by the same walls becomes tiring. When that happens, relocate your workspace and enjoy the change of scenery.
- Brainstorm ideas. Before you can write cohesive sentences, sometimes it’s best to write all ideas down in bullet form and piece them together afterwards.
Writing is a process. For some it comes easy; for others who are just starting out in the industry, it takes some time. A little push and a lot of patience is all you need. Happy writing!
