After a long day in the office, working out may sound like the absolute LAST thing you want to do. It is much easier to hurry home, cuddle up on the couch and get ready for the next day. I have always been a big proponent of letting your body rest, but recently I began a workout that feels more relaxing than going home– Hot Yoga.
Here in New York, we do yoga and cycling at Studio 360, which is right down the street from our office. This class has done wonders for my work and my overall attitude! Whatever your workout of choice may be, here are a few reasons to get yourself motivated to work out and be the best PR Professional you can be.
Turn off your brain – All day long we are devouring information and brainstorming new ideas. Brains, just like our bodies, can get worn out too. If you let yourself turn off your brain and focus on your body you will be amazed at how clear-minded you come into work the next day!
Endorphins – We all know that chemical released when we engage in physical activity. It’s amazing how happy it can actually make you feel. Ending – or beginning – your day with such positivity gets your creative juices flowing and ready for work!
Bond with co-workers – It’s great to have something so positive to bond with your co-workers on other than work itself. While you see these people every day and know them so well, getting outside of the work environment always adds a greater element to that bond. It is thanks to the strong relationships at Konnect PR that make us such a strong agency.
Confidence – Nothing feels better than accomplishing something challenging. Getting into the habit of pushing your body will make you that much more confident and this will radiate in all aspects of your life.
Work-life balance is so important not only to make us happy but to make us more effective at what we do. So, get up, blast some music and find the workout that’s just right for you. You will be amazed at how fresh and full of energy you feel at work the next day.
