It’s that time to open up those resumes! With Christmas break over and Spring semester around the corner, right now is the perfect time to clean up those resumes and cover letters and start applying for Summer internship programs! Here at Konnect Public Relations, we want to help you land your dream internship with these quick three tips.
1. Go to your school’s career counseling center
- Luckily, the majority of universities today offer free career counseling sessions for you to jump start your career search! These counselors are experts in their field that offer resume, cover letter and even job search help so that you don’t feel alone. Schedule an appointment for help once you get back to school (before the craziness ensues) to polish up that resume of yours. If your school does not have a career counseling center, ask your favorite professor! They can give you tips and pointers on how to make your resume or cover letter more appealing for recruiters.
2. Create friendships
- Think of networking as making new friends and reaching out to old ones. You may never know who knows who and works where without asking! If your school offers networking events, sign up for them! Recruiters from renowned companies typically attends these and its a great way to get your name out.
3. Apply, apply, apply!
- Take time out of your break to start applying to internships. Recruiters start searching for candidates around this time.
Best of luck!
