Summer Fancy Food Show 2017 Recap

A few members of our Konnect family attended The Summer Fancy Food Show in New York this past weekend, making sure to check out the trendiest new snacks and keep an eye on some of our food and beverage clients. The Specialty Food Association ran the event from June 25-27, with over 2600 exhibitors and over 180,000 different specialty food products on the floor. Whether it’s flavored water, bite-size treats, or make-your-own snack kits, the $127 billion – and growing – specialty foods industry did not disappoint.

Winner of the 2017 Sofi Award for Best Vegan Snack, Kite Hill’s Chive Cream Cheese Style Spread is made with all natural ingredients, including white peppers and chive to make this award-winning flavor. While it’s ideal for spreading on a bagel, Kite Hill also recommends to mix into mashed potatoes or serve alongside fruit and crackers as an appetizer.

Ozery Bakery offered samples of some of their customers’ favorite products, including Morning Rounds and Snacking Rounds, the toastable fruit and grain buns available in sweet flavors like cranberry orange and apple cinnamon. Hopping on the non-dairy wagon, Ozery previewed their Vegan Brioche Buns and Bites line, slated to launch in 2018. They brought their best breakfast game to Summer Fancy!

Nutzzo, the seven seed and nut butter brand, launched the first-ever paleo chocolate nut butter at this year’s Summer Fancy. This new flavor joins their two other classic flavors in both crunchy and smooth, a perfect upgrade to your chocolate hazelnut butter, almond butter, or peanut butter!

With nut butters, dairy alternatives, and “clean label” snacks at the front-line of specialty foods this year, Konnect Agency is proud to have such on trend – and delicious – clients!
