There is no better time than now to make your move, walk through doors you thought were closed to you, and believe that you belong there. The Konnect Executive Team recently had the privilege of attending a Tony Robbins Business Mastery event, and one of our key takeaways is that mindset can make it possible for anyone to take chances, walk through those doors and reach goals. Sometimes we perceive that the road to achievement is long and arduous and filled with roadblocks (or at least it feels that way). What if it’s not? What if all it takes is doing one thing? After all, you can’t expect it to happen without trying.
A common mantra of success coaches, and one that Tony says repeatedly is that success is 80% psychology and 20% mechanics. How you feel when you approach any situation is 100% going to determine your outcome. That moment when you see clearly, when you know what your outcome will be, without a doubt, is when the impossible becomes possible. Talent isn’t the only predictor of success. It’s how you choose to use your talent, how you apply it, and that relentless positive mindset that will make you successful.
In the business of public relations, it’s all about relationships and knowing how to maximize them, so this is a great area to make your own opportunities. Sometimes, it’s simply making that phone call to a new media or business contact and getting through the scary part of not knowing how the person on the other end will respond. If you pick up the phone with a clear reason for calling and a positive mindset, it guarantees success. Or, attend an event (yes, by yourself if necessary) and meet people who motivate you or give you insights for your personal growth. Decide to be in a peak state and network. What do you have to lose? If you don’t push and you don’t try things that will help you build new relationships, it will be harder to succeed in business.
Know your outcome, know your skillset, know your worth, and get out there ready to take charge. Here are some tips for things you should do every day to empower yourself (based on what we’ve learned from Business Mastery):
- Know your goal and work toward that outcome.
- Remain enthusiastic, remind yourself that you are worthy, and apply it to your work.
- Do something that feels a little new or uncomfortable and give yourself the opportunity to learn.
- Practice, practice, practice because practice makes permanent.
- Seek out ways to execute on your ideas, and don’t worry about how.
- Feed and strengthen your mind.
Looking forward to hearing about your break-through moments!
