Instagram Stories– Are nothing new to the platform, yet in the new year we are likely to see an increase of usage on this feature. With Instagram’s algorithm constantly changing, currently Instagram stories tend to see higher levels of engagement on the platform in comparison to traditional grid posts. This calls for an increase of usage of this functionality from both a brand and influencer perspective. If you want your content to be seen, you should be using this feature!
Gen Z Is Up Next– Marketers will soon be targeting the next generation on social media. We are likely to a shift in the type of digital advertising and platforms that are being focused on by brands given the next generations social media preferences.
Platform Regulations and Polices– 2017 had its fair share of “fake news” and unruly stunts shared on the internet. As a result, we are likely to see platforms such as Facebook and YouTube create stricter content and streaming guidelines to create a more organic and user-friendly experience for brands and users on the platforms. In order for brands and influencers to remain a recitable source online it is important for these platforms create regulations and rules that protect users.
