Tradeshows and Expos offer an effective way for companies to showcase their products, connect with the right people, and capture leads of every kind (business, media, customer, etc.). For anyone who has been involved in a Tradeshow on either the company or Public Relations agency side will know that it does require a lot of work, before, during, and after the show. However, when executed effectively you can receive a great return on your investment.
There are many different reasons why companies decide to exhibit at a tradeshow, but one of the main motivations is the get their products into the hands of the right people and make those direct connections. Each person at the booth has a different role and strategic outcome from a tradeshow. For publicists, our goal is to generate healthy buzz, positive discussion, and interest around our client’s booth/products. One effective way to build media hype is to showcase a new product at the booth in the way it would be enjoyed at home, as this usually gets people interested in stopping by the booth to taste and discuss the product before it hits grocery shelves. Other effective ways to get people to your booth include partnering with celebrities or bloggers, hosting cooking demonstrations, giveaways, or having interactive gimmicks like photobooths, games, etc.
Below are some of our favorite Food and Beverage Tradeshows for your company to consider for the remainder of this year and next:
June 30-July 2, 2018
Javits Center, New York
The Summer Fancy Food Show is one of the largest specialty food industry events in North America, and the premier showcase for industry innovation. That often involves new and exciting events, programs, and exhibitors. This is the place to see and taste the future of food!
October 4, 2018
Each year FounderMade hosts The Consumer Discovery Show in New York in June and Los Angeles in October. The show connects the world’s most innovative consumer brands in beauty, wellness, and food with active retailers, distributors, investors, influencers, and consumers. This is a great opportunity for companies to build the meteoric distribution, sales, financing, and strategic partnerships to scale their businesses. This show is newer to the roster but offers a small, intimate atmosphere and is one to definitely keep on your radar as they continue to grow and expand.
January 13-15, 2019
Moscone Center, San Francisco
Known as one of the smaller Tradeshows, Winter Fancy Food Show provides a great opportunity for companies to connect with local San Francisco media, retailers, distributors and investors who often don’t travel to the other shows in New York and Los Angeles. This is definitely a must if you have a new product launching, wanting to expand in the San Francisco area, and want to continue to build brand awareness and relationships with key people in the industry.
March 5-9, 2018
Anaheim Convention Center, CA
Unless you have been living under a rock you are bound to have heard of Expo West. The leading Tradeshow in the natural, organic and healthy products industry, attracting over 80,000 industry professionals and 3,100 exhibits each year. This is a must for new business or veterans in the industry and is one of the most well-organized and planned Tradeshows I have personally been to.o!
We look forward to seeing you at a Tradeshow or Expo soon!
