Right when I was introduced to the iPhone, I rushed to download the Yelp application to my new smartphone. We all enjoy the convenience and ease of typing in our current cravings and getting easy access to where and what we want to eat at the moment. As an intern at a pr agency, I have seen the need for speed and immediate gratification for all aspects of social life. There is something more convenient and easily accessible than yelp. I would like to introduce the application, Foodspotting.
Foodspotting is an application that allows all smart phone users to take photographs of their food and post it on the application for all smart phone users to view. This application is a community for all food lovers to unite and help benefit the other hungry social media eaters. Seeing this form of community as an intern at a LA Public Relations reminds me of the importance of social media. We all want to know what is the latest and “hippest” happening spot to go to. That also includes restaurants. From the good hole in the wall to the most extravagant eateries in the city. The photos that pop up as one looks through each page comes with descriptions of the food that is closest to him or her. That is correct, I said closest. How convenient is that? Very.
Satisfying, visually gratifying, and within close proximity. Go and find this application!
