It was announced today (story via Mashable) that a select few are testing Twitter Analytics, which could be huge news for a PR agency like ours.
It’s no secret that Twitter is becoming increasingly popular as mode of elevating brand awareness but so far we have not been able to track the impact of a particular Twitter feed aside from how many followers it attracts. Now, with TwitterAnalytics, publicists will be able to monitor which tweets are most effective, which are least effective, and also be able to gauge reactions from the general public on a particular brand.
A huge part of determining a PR agency’s worth is being able to quantify our outreach, so this sort of information can be hugely beneficial in proving an agency’s worth to the client. We manage Twitter feeds for several of our clients, so this could mean big news for us. In addition to being able to assign a number to a Tweet’s worth, we’ll be able to adjust the way we Tweet to better serve our clients, which is our ultimate goal!
Looking forward to testing it out!
