Since today, April 17, is the 107th day of the year, I am going to post 107 reasons why I am happy to be a new addition to the Konnect PR team. So get ready for this guys it is going to be an awesome one. I mean what better way for a newbie to make headlines in the Public relations world than to post about the positives of being a part of it. Here we go…
1)…hmmm… Los Angeles public relations….
I’m just kidding. I am not actually going to post 107 reasons because my fingers would probably ache but I will say that my first week on the job has been very successful. I was greeted with smiles that sent energy that danced off the pink walls surrounding me and eased my nerves. I didn’t just walk into an office, I walked into a family. Don’t worry this isn’t a family like the Griswold’s in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” where the personalities are over the top and there is always crazy and absurd shenanigans going on. It’s more of a Timon & Pumbaa feel. Everyone was more than happy to help and give advice and yes, there was even a bit of singing going on…well a little but lots of music. On my tour of the office we came to the holy grail of all offices, apartments and houses. No I am not talking about the TV room, I am talking about the canteen, the cookhouse, the crumb stash, the scullery and if you still aren’t following, I am talking about the kitchen!
As I looked around at box after box, cupboard after cupboard I began to notice the monster of disappointment consume me until a quick glance at a nearby package fought the monster away and replaced it with rainbows and butterflies (The traditional description of happiness but I must admit I find butterflies quite “shuddersome” sometimes. I mean come on, they have hairy bodies and beady eyes.). What was it that produced such an emotion? Dr. Lucy’s gluten free cookies, sitting there waiting for me to devour them. I knew at that moment this was a fit. After all a gluten free girl needs her gluten free cookies. I guess I could share, but they are a little too delicious for two so probably best to keep it to one, me.
