Le GASP! This all-pink PR Firm in Downtown LA is exploring new grounds…by bringing their first BOY onto the team! Hello, nice to e-meet you, I’m Andrew…and yes, I’m a boy. I was lucky enough to join this group of fabulous ladies, and let me tell you it’s been fantastic. My first day here ended with a massage (yes, please) and who wouldn’t love that? It almost makes up for the fact that my office is…pink, but hey, who says pink is just for girls? Real men not only wear pink, they rock it and I’m definitely ready to rock it out.
So as an introduction, I’ve asked a few of the girls at Konnect to send me some questions, here’s what they asked:
Q: Where is your favorite place to travel or ideal vacation?
A: I’ve always wanted to go to Bora Bora…those huts on the super clear blue ocean seem absolutely amazing. Other than that, I’m a true city-boy, so LA, NY, anywhere with a thriving nightlife is where you’ll find me! In a nutshell, anywhere with a decent bar.
Q: Name 3 things on your bucket list.
1. Ride in a hot-air balloon.
2. Eat at Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo, Japan (watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi for more info, it costs $300+ for a sushi dinner and the menu depends on what was freshest at the fish market THAT morning and you have to reserve your spot at least a month in advance…).
3. Have a bottomless mimosa brunch with Anna Wintour and get her sufficiently inebriated, then get her to take me to the Vogue closet where hopefully she’ll say “take whatever you want”.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in LA?
A: Boiling Crab. Too easy. If Boiling Crab were a religion, I’d go door to door spreading the gospel of the Medium Shabang Sauce. This is basically me:
Q: What is your office wardrobe style?
A: My fashion fix is definitely cardigans/sweaters. Some people plan what they’re going to wear according to accessories or shoes, but I plan my outfits based on what sweater/jacket/cardigan I want to wear that day.
Q: Who is your style inspiration?
A: I dress by the golden Coco Chanel Rule, ““Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” Keep it clean and simple, can’t go wrong with that.
Q: If you could do any activity on the moon, what would it be and who would you do it with?
A: Silly question, there aren’t any bars on the moon…yet. Just kidding, I would have a giant paintball battle/laser-tag war with a huge group of friends.
Q: What is your nickname?
A: London…what’s the story you ask? It’s actually very simple. The high school I went to had a bajillion Andrew Park’s so when I went off to college, I re-branded myself as London. See, I’ve been doing PR for years.
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
A: Being in PR, this really shouldn’t bother me so much, but I HATE when people are on their phones while we’re out eating together. If you need to quickly respond to an email or there’s an emergency fine, but don’t sit there and play Angry Birds while we’re out at dinner! I made the effort to come and spend time with you, so it would be nice if we got to do just that…don’t make me an angry bird.
Q: What is the best dish you’ve ever eaten?
A: A common Brazilian street food called Pastel…it’s a deep fried envelope of dough that’s stuffed with meat, cheese, olives, egg, tomato, onions…I can’t go on… I’m getting weak just thinking about it.
Q: What’s the song that gets you pumped and ready for the weekend?
A: It’s always changing, but currently, Iconapop – I Love It
And I guess that’s me in 10 questions! Thanks for the Q’s, ladies (I love this PR Agency)!
