Most of us are used to the usual 9-5. We go through each day in basically a similar routine: same commute, same responsibilities, same morning coffee and same faces. While being immersed in your work is not a bad thing, it’s also important to take time for yourself and find that perfect balance to keep you motivated! Try some of these tips that we live by at Konnect PR to help you along the way!
Set realistic daily goals for yourself: Each day make a “to-do list” highlighting everything that you need to get done that day. Then pick which task is most important and work from there. Checking things off that list will keep you motivated, and giving yourself a realistic number of tasks will keep your day stress free.
Spend your lunch break away from your desk: When lunch rolls around, it’s important to step away from your desk and “share a meal” with some of your co-workers, whether it’s walking down the street to Chipotle or heading to the kitchen to grab your pre-made salad. Make sure to give yourself a break from your work, if possible, and engage in non-work related conversation. Talk about the weekend, the weather, your favorite TV shows! There is plenty you might have in common with your co-workers if you give it a try!
Plan your weekends ahead of time: Get active! The weekend is the perfect time to take a hike, go to an amusement park or check out a local ball game. Try to plan these fun weekend adventures ahead of time! Give yourself something to look forward to when you are hitting that 2pm slump on a Tuesday afternoon.
Make time for yourself: Don’t forget numero uno! Always make time for your favorite things. If you like reading, take a book wherever you go, or if you enjoy the gym, make sure to sign up for those late night classes.
