How To Rock Black Friday On Social Media

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the most important dates for the crossover between social media and e-commerce. Not only do you have the opportunity to sell stuff on social media, but users really want to find great deals. The only downside – every other brand is competing for the same attention. Now, how to stand out is the real question!

Black Friday Social Media Strategy

We’ve put together a couple ways to make the most of Black Friday weekend:

  • Start thinking early. Don’t wait until the day before Thanksgiving to put together your Black Friday social strategy. Plan out your content, your ads and promoted posts and start teasing a couple days before. That way users will know to come back on Friday for a deal they don’t want to miss.
  • Hashtags! This isn’t the day to get shy when it comes to using hashtags. People will be scouring social media and relevant Black Friday hashtags all weekend for must-have deals. Check out our post all about hashtag usage to make sure you’re hashtag game is always on point!
  • Bump up that Facebook Ad budget. Even if you have a regular ad campaign running, create a specific one for Black Friday with unique copy and images. And boost your posts while you’re at it! That way you’re getting your brand’s information to the right people.
  • Use stand-out imagery. Like we mentioned earlier, there are a ton of brands competing for attention this weekend. Use pictures that are eye-catching and colorful, while finding that balance of not seeming overly promotional.
